Bookmark this page for Revu 10 feature leaks!

February 8, 2012 by

The February edition of the Bluebeam Insider has made it official – Revu 10 will be here at the end of March!

We know “next month” can seem like a long ways away, especially when you’re waiting to find out what we have in store for you with Revu 10. So, in an effort to make you happy (while not angering the engineers by giving away all their secrets) we’ve set up a microsite for feature leaks – www.Revu10.com. Every week we’ll reveal another video, image or other tidbit about a new feature that will be available on a desktop or tablet PC near you soon!

Our first leak – a video – is about an interesting new feature we call “Spaces.” Click here to check it out, and remember to keep on PDFin’!

Tips for taking Revu enterprise-wide

February 2, 2012 by

It seems to be the trend these days –and one that we here at Bluebeam are very excited about. More and more of our customers are standardizing on Revu, not just as their PDF editor, but as a solution to complete a variety of digital workflows. Among those customers publicly announcing they have standardized on Revu include MMM Group (they’ve replaced their seats of Adobe Acrobat with Revu), the City of Bellevue, WA (Revu is a part of the city’s new solution for paperless permitting), COWI (they’re using Revu for assembling project reports and reviewing drawings ) and Grant Thornton’s Tax Practice (this group is using Revu to digitally annotate PDF work papers and digitally sign PDFs).

Are you also looking at going enterprise-wide, or perhaps project or department-wide with Revu? Well, you’re in luck. We’ve got some great resources for you!

In addition to clicking the links above to see how your fellow Revu users are Bluebeaming, we have a published “Guide to Implementing Bluebeam within Your Enterprise” – in PDF, of course. Check it out for tips on net deployment, configuring the Bluebeam Administrator, managing configurations and selecting and deploying Revu preferences and settings.

We also offer Enterprise Licensing, which automatically tracks license usage and releases inactive seats, making them available to install on other computers.

Do you need more help standardizing on Revu? Let us know – we’re always here. And remember, to keep on PDFin’!

This tool set can be yours!

This tool set is packed full of markups that you can easily place on your drawings, change the color and resize. You can get it (and many other tool sets) for free here.

For those of you that are not familiar with Revu’s toolsets, you’ll definitely want to know all about these time-saving treasures. Tool sets are groups of specialized markup symbols that are saved in Revu’s exclusive Tool Chest and are fully customizable for each user.  Learn more about tool sets here.

Are there other symbols that you need, that you just don’t see pre-loaded in Revu or on our website? Let me know! And remember, to keep on PDFin’!

Bluebeam Rings in 2012 at the Rose Parade

January 5, 2012 by

The ball has dropped, confetti has landed and 2012 is here! Bluebeam continued our annual tradition of celebrating the New Year together by watching the Rose Parade. Lucky us – our Pasadena, CA headquarters are conveniently located on the parade route, and we have a balcony! Here are some photos of our favorite floats and bands:

The China Airlines float celebrated the beginning of the year of the Dragon (well, almost – Chinese New Year begins later this month.)

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles’ float celebrated its new dinosaur exhibit!

This “If Pigs Could Fly” float reminded me of Angry Birds!

We love the Nordics, so we definitely loved that the Royal Swedish Navy Cadet Band made an appearance in this year’s parade.

Aloha from the City of Downey!

Happy New Year, and remember to keep on PDFin’!

Bluebeam Studio will be temporarily unavailable beginning Friday at 5pm PST

December 7, 2011 by

Hello Bluebeamers! If you use Bluebeam Studio to collaborate online with others, then read on.

This weekend Bluebeam Studio is jumping over to a new cloud so that we can offer users even better performance during PDF-based collaboration sessions. This switch will begin this Friday, December 9th 5pm PST, and Bluebeam Studio sessions will be temporarily unavailable as we make the move. We anticipate being back online by Monday morning. Even though we are moving, there will be no changes required on your end once Studio is back online. Nice!

We hope you’re relaxing, and not working, this weekend. But if you anticipate needing to access the PDFs stored in your Studio sessions, then make sure to save them locally – or contact your session host for local copies – before 5pm PST this Friday.

If you have any questions please feel free to call us at (866) 496-2140, extension 2. And remember, to keep on PDFin’!

Bluebeam Has a Blast at AU 2011

December 6, 2011 by

This year’s Autodesk University was held at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.  The feedback from many attendees was that this year’s show was more exciting than ever, and we were thrilled to be a part of it.

Many of our users stopped by to tell us how Bluebeam PDF Revu makes their lives easier, and offered suggestions for future releases. Users-to-be learned more about why Bluebeam PDF Revu stands out among the competition.

With such a diverse group around us, it was a great opportunity to hold a special Faces of Revu photo event on Wednesday night, during AUGI’s annual Beer Bust. All attendees were welcome to take a self-portrait keepsake, while we invited devoted Bluebeam fans to enter the campaign.

Check out these photos from our booth:

This Bluebeamer struck a pose for Revu.

Team Bluebeam!

We also got to have a little fun in the Creative Studio, making marshmallow guns!

Thank you to everyone who came by. We hope you had as much fun as we did. And remember,  to keep on PDFin’!
