Just in Time for the Holidays: Bluebeam Action Figures?

December 24, 2012

If you have ever attended one of our user conferences, whether it be the Bluebeam eXtreme Conference or the International Rally Conference, you have probably encountered our dynamic duo of lead Bluebeam engineers sharing their top Tips & Tricks for using Revu. Well, we have always seen them as our own personal super heroes because of their ability to make Revu do just about anything our users need.

TipsandTricks

So, we made their superhero status “official” by working with one of our users, Viet (who just so happens to make custom toys and previously created a Mighty Bluebeam action figure for us). You got to love the attention to detail! Unfortunately, these one-of-a-kind action figures won’t be invading your local toy shop any time soon.

Happy Holidays, and remember to keep on PDFin’.

Bluebeam in Action at Greenbuild 2012

December 3, 2012

In November, the Bluebeam team ventured to San Francisco for Greenbuild 2012! As a forward-thinking city with green leanings, San Francisco was an ideal host city, making Greenbuild more high-energy and exciting than ever before. Here are shots of some of our favorite show moments:

Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen Set for Global RallyCross Season Finale

October 29, 2012

LasVegas Rally

Looking to finish his Global RallyCross Championship (GRC) season strong, Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen will be hitting the track in his Bluebeam-sponsored Ford Fiesta during the season finale taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center today and tomorrow. The convention center’s Gold Lot has been transformed into a rallycross super circuit with pavement to dirt transitions and a high-flying, 70-foot gap jump. Many of the racers have commented that this will be one of the most competitive tracks of the season because it moves away from the NASCAR style track they have become accustomed to.  In fact, it’s similar to a European style track, which should give Topi an edge. The track saw its first casualty yesterday when David Binks crashed his eBay Ford Fiesta after coming up short on the gap jump during practice runs. He was taken to hospital for precautionary measures, but was back on the track today.

Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. Pacific today and tomorrow with on track activity starting at 4:30 p.m. The main event is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:10 p.m. Full race coverage can be seen live on ESPN2 and ESPN3 starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Good Luck Topi! And, remember to keep on PDFin’.

Bluebeam Rallycross Driver Topi Heikkinen Dominates in Vegas

October 1, 2012

RallyCar

This past weekend, RallyCross sensation Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen took the first step in his comeback from a devastating crash at last June’s X Games, when he went head-to-head with the likes of Tanner Foust , Samuel Hubinette and Brian Deegan during the fifth round of the Global RallyCross Championships (GRC) at the Las Vegas MotorSpeed.  Despite blowing out a tire during the final laps of the main event, Topi barely missed a third place finish.

Topi showed no fear and wasted little time hitting the gap jump during the first lap of his qualifying heat leading up to Saturday night’s main event.  This made quite the statement considering he was still walking with crutches.  He continued his aggressive driving straight through to the main event where he held the third position for the majority of the race until being slowed by a flat tire that left him with a still impressive fourth place finish following Tanner Foust in first place, Brian Deegan in second place and Sverre Isachsen in third.

Tanner Foust walked away with the $25,000 Global Rallycross Championship Discount Tire Cup, having finished the GRC season with the most points overall, 53, accumulated from races at Texas Motor Speedway on June 9, New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 14, and Saturday’s event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Brian Deegan edged out Samuel Hubinette for second with 50 points while Hubinette finished in third with 33.

Topi has been through a lot these past three months and it was really exciting to see him attack the track this weekend. He looked like he didn’t miss a step. Everyone here at Bluebeam is very proud of him and can’t wait to see him tear it up in Vegas again later this month. Stay tuned for more details, and remember to keep on PDFin’.

Bluebeam Accelerates the Revu Experience at IRC 2012

September 10, 2012

This past weekend, engineering, design and construction professionals from all over the U.S. joined Bluebeam for its second annual International Rally Conference (IRC) at the majestic Salish Lodge and Spa just outside of Seattle, Washington.  As expected, this year’s conference offered a rare learning experience, where attendees learned best practices for using Bluebeam Revu while also finding some time for a little competitive racing.

Day one was all about Revu with educational sessions led by Bluebeam’s top engineers as well as a number of real-world case studies from Bluebeam power users and industry experts, including Turner Construction Company, McCarthy Building Companies, Mortenson Construction, Zachry Construction Corporation, and Foster Wheeler Energy Limited.  On day two, we turned it up a notch by treating many of our guests to a rally car racing experience at the DirtFish Rally School.  A number of racers went in, but only one would exit the 2012 Bluebeam Rally Champion.

Here’s a quick look at what went down:
