Let me guess – did you just go to Google and type in “Bluebeam for Mac” and find this post? Well, if so, hello! I hope that this blog will help you get up and running with Bluebeam on your Mac very soon.
Now for the “probably not what you’re hoping for” answer: We don’t have a Mac version of Bluebeam PDF Revu. That doesn’t mean we never will – trust me, we know you want Mac compatibility, and we want to give it to you someday.
In the mean time, we do have many Mac users who run Bluebeam on Windows all the time. You too can toggle between both operating systems using solutions such as Boot Camp (now a built in part of OS X) or Parallels.
So go ahead, test this out using Bluebeam’s 30 day trial, and feel free to leave your feedback below or send us your suggestions to suggestions@bluebeam.com. And remember to keep on PDFin’!

Virtualbox (www.virtualbox.org) is an open source project (bought out by Sun, now owned by Oracle) that also provides a way to run a Windows XP/Vista/7 virtual machine on a Mac host (as well as other OSes) to run PDF Revu. Personally, I’d much prefer a native Mac version, but this does suffice for now.

Official support for Parallels and Bootcamp is encouraging and welcome. I would still very much prefer a native OS X version of Revu.

Please let me know if you plan to introduce an OS X version of pdf Revu.
I don’t think there is any other software (Mac or PC) which has such a comprehensive pdf toolkit – measurements, customizable stamps, customizable tools, change drawing order, flattening; etc.
I’m a big fan of Bluebeam but I hate using a PC!

I hope a mac / iPAD version of Bluebeam will be ready shortly, as this combination will change the way many industries operate (paperless!)

Can you give us any clues as to whether there will be a version of BlueBeam for the iPad, and if so, when it might come available.

What about using Bluebeam on an IPad? Specifically for the punch portion of the toolchest?

Any further progress on an iPad/Android/Playbook version of this software? Thanks Jill.

Hi Dan and Jeff – We do not have an iPad app…yet. We started getting a lot of requests for one this year and I can tell you that it’s in development. We’re working hard to build something more than the basic PDF support currently offered on iPads (viewing, highlighting, text boxes, etc.), so we can provide our users with an app that will really help them digitally share design and document feedback while on the go. I do not have an exact release date to share, but I’m hearing it’ll be available at some point in 2012.
Take care,
Jill (at) bluebeaminsider.com

How about supporting a Citrix deployment?

An iPad app will be great! Thanks Jill. We’ll be looking for it.

Bluebeam and Mac – please hurry up – commercially it makes sense and so many people want it but dont want the PC bit

Bluebeam is built on the .NET platform. Whatever they might say about wanting to port it to Mac/iOS, they’re going to be slowed by Mono being so far behind Microsoft’s implementation of the platform. Either that or they rewrite from scratch, which I think we as users should know isn’t realistic.

An Ipad app would be awesome, even if it started simple with the ability to join studio, view plans and be able to use the punch tools

I use Bluebeam all of the time at work to review and edit construction drawings in a PDF format. i like the measurement and highlighter tool the best. I just got an iPad and since an iPad verson is not out yet, has anyone found a good replacement for the time being to hold me over?

You’ve had the same response for years. Obviously we Apple users are a VERY low priority. Nice product, lousy attitude!

Hi Roy,
I’ve been giving the a-okay to share this update. We’re expecting a Mac version towards the end of 2012.

I am thinking of making the switch from PC to Mac and love Bluebeam. Is there a digital pen/pad that you know works with a Mac running Bluebeam under Bootcamp or Parallels? Thanks.

Hi Paul,
I have a Bamboo Tablet from Wacom that I use on my PC. Their site says they are compatible with Mac OS 10.5 and up: http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/Bamboo/BambooTablets.aspx.
