Want to see what Bluebeam PDF Revu 8 looks like?

Ever since I posted the “What to Expect in Bluebeam PDF Revu 8” podcast earlier this month, I’ve been getting a ton of requests to share more about the upcoming release. I tried to satisfy this hunger for Revu 8 news by directing Bluebeamers to www.station32.com (believe me, there are hints in the Mighty Bluebeam videos). But, that only made Bluebeamers want to know more.

Well, today I’m giving it to you. Here are some never before seen screenshots of the soon to be released Bluebeam PDF Revu 8. Enjoy!

Stamping 1600 PDF pages in seconds

I love hearing positive feedback from customers, especially stories like this:

“Bluebeam saved the day for me when I had 1600 pages to Bates-stamp and have sent out THAT DAY.  That project would have taken me at LEAST two or three days to do without it.”

Bates-stamping or Bates-numbering, for those who don’t know, is a type of numbering system that places unique identifiers on the top of documents, and it’s very common in the legal and medical fields. Bluebeam’s implementation of Bates Stamping is pretty simple, so it’s no wonder that Debra was able to Bates-stamp her 1600 page PDF so quickly.

1)      Go to Documents/Headers and Footers:

2)      Click on the Bates Stamping button, enter in desired number of digits, start number and prefix or suffix.

3)      Click OK and you’re good to go!

A Nail-Biting TV Special on Concrete Contractors

This past weekend I caught the tail-end of a special History Channel show, Jobsite: Concrete Countdown. This one hour episode details a construction crew pouring the top floor of a Manhattan skyscraper. The catch? They only have 90 minutes to get the concrete from the ground, up 700 feet to the 60th floor and poured before it dries up.

I know a lot of you deal with high-pressure jobsite situations like this one all the time. But let me tell you, I was definitely on the edge of my seat! And it put into perspective the importance of clearly and accurately documenting project information with solutions like Bluebeam.

They’ve got Bluebeam on their minds (and in their tweets)

Last week, we unveiled an itty bitty sneak peak of our upcoming release, Bluebeam PDF Revu 8. Well, ever since then, Bluebeam has been on the minds of our users, and in their tweets, too. Here are some of my favorite recent Bluebeam “shout outs”:

Bluebeam Podcast: What to Expect in Bluebeam PDF Revu Version 8

Guess what? Bluebeam is on the brink of releasing a new version of your favorite PDF creation, markup and editing tool, Bluebeam PDF Revu. That’s right – the release of version 8 is imminent!

Last year, right around this time we sat down with two of our lead software developers, Ben and Peter, to talk about 2009’s release of version 7. Well, we invited them back to Bluebeam Studios once again, and this time we talked about the overall theme of version 8. At Bluebeam, we rang in the New Year by watching the Pasadena, CA Tournament of Roses Parade from our offices, which are conveniently located along the parade’s route. During that celebration, we weren’t just looking ahead to a great 2010; we were also reflecting on the year that had just passed. In fact, we even made a video to pay homage to all that Bluebeam encountered in the year 2009. Check it out:

I think we can all agree that 2009 wasn’t an “easy” year for anyone. But armed with our determination to fight excessive paper usage, and powered by the support of awesome users like you, we were able to battle the forces against us and make 2009 a great year for Bluebeam and Bluebeamers alike. So, thanks for helping us be us, and remember to keep on PDFin’ your way through 2010!
